The solstice looms, the longest day of the year is nigh. Ready to come out and praise?
We'll gather at The Crossing tomorrow night -- and every Thursday in June & July -- to connect with each other, connect with God, get grounded with spiritual practice at 6 p.m., rise up and worship at 6:30 p.m. What could be better?
How about an extended remix at The Paradise Lounge in Brighton with our brothers and sisters in soul, the funk band Booty Vortex, Thursday at 8 p.m.? The band includes our song leader, Sarah Thiemann, so let's clean up quick, hop on the T, go support our sister and (can't resist) meet God in Paradise. Head to http://www.bootyvortex.com/live/ and click "Gigs" for details and directions. Tickets are $10 @ the door.
OTHER HAPPENINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ...
** Monday, 6/25 / Scripture Chat @ Grendel's Den in Harvard Square: 2nd & 4th Mondays @ 6:30 p.m. = scriptures in Harvard Square. Chris Ashley convenes the circle, where we look at upcoming scriptures and see what fresh insights God has in store. Bring a friend, enjoy the super-cheap food and drink. For details, contact Chris at chris.ashley@gmail.com or 312.451.5124, and check the blog to preview the readings.
** Thursday, 6/28 / Surprise Celebrant: I'll be in NYC on church biz, and Rev. Steve Bonsey -- Canon for Evangelism (wicked good title, eh?) at the Cathedral and an advocate for all things emergent -- will be our guest celebrant.
** Monday, 7/2 / Community Scrum: 1st Mondays @ 6:30 p.m. = Community Scrum, where leaders come together to share ideas, talk out issues. Last scrum we did some great work on setting out clearer structures and ministry areas and decision-making processes (look at us go!). More learning ahead. Write to us at thecrossing@diomass.org if you'd like to join the team.
Finally, there's plenty of room for you to offer your gifts, questions, passion at The Crossing. Write to us at thecrossing@diomass.org if you'd like to ...
* MAKE THE WORSHIP SPACE BEAUTIFUL
